Thrift Shop
Thrift Shop, shot in San Francisco in 2018, glows with the neon lights of a coin exchange. The storefront’s bold colors and urban grit embody the contradictions of city life: commerce and culture, transience and permanence. Frank Kayser transforms this fleeting night scene into an enduring piece of photographic art, rich with atmosphere and detail.Neon speaks in capitals: GOLD, SILVER, COINS—a typographic chant behind glass. The honeycomb facade grids the scene while the blue phone number cuts through the red like a cool note in a warm chord. It’s pure street Americana—commerce as light, austerity as rhythm. From the Leica Gallery Düsseldorf solo exhibition “My Territory.” Museum-grade print on 100% cotton paper, signed, numbered, and issued with a certificate of authenticity.
